In 2010, Y. Azuma and M. Shibata published the name Fukuititan.

Fossils referred to Fukuititan date to the Early Cretaceous (Aptian), roughly 121.4 to 113.2 million years ago. Finds come from Japan, including the Kitadani Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.

Published estimates put Fukuititan at a length near 16.1 m, hips about 3.5 m high, and a body mass around 5.8 tonnes.

On the family tree it sits in Titanosauriformes, among the sauropod dinosaurs.
