Batyrosaurus was formally named in 2012 by P. Godefroit and colleagues. The name means “hero warrior.”
Fossils referred to Batyrosaurus date to the Late Cretaceous (Santonian · Campanian), roughly 85.7 to 72.2 million years ago. Finds come from Kazakhstan, including the Bostobe Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Batyrosaurus at a length near 4.5 m.
