The story in short

Soriatitan was formally named in 2017 by R. Royo-Torres and colleagues. The name means “soria titan.”

Fossils referred to Soriatitan date to the Early Cretaceous (Hauterivian · Barremian), roughly 132.6 to 121.4 million years ago. Finds come from Spain, including the Golmayo Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.

Published estimates put Soriatitan at a length near 13–14 m, hips about 2.2 m high, and a body mass around 8 tonnes.

On the family tree it sits in Brachiosauridae, among the sauropod dinosaurs.
