In 1986, E. Buffetaut and R. Ingavat published the name Siamosaurus. The name means “siam lizard.”
Fossils referred to Siamosaurus date to the Early Cretaceous (Valanginian · Hauterivian), roughly 137.1 to 125.8 million years ago. Finds come from Thailand, including the Sao Khua Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Siamosaurus at a length near 5.1–9.1 m, hips about 1.4 m high, and a body mass around 0.3–1 tonnes.
