Oceanotitan was formally named in 2019 by P. Mocho and colleagues.
It lived in the Late Jurassic (Kimmeridgian), roughly 154.8 to 149.2 million years ago. Finds come from Portugal, including the Lourinhã Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Oceanotitan at a length near 16 m, hips about 3.1 m high, and a body mass around 10 tonnes.
