The story in short
The genus Bahariasaurus dates to 1934, the year E. Stromer described it. The name means “bahariya lizard.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian), roughly 100.5 to 93.9 million years ago. Finds come from Egypt, including the Bahariya Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Bahariasaurus at a length near 11–12.2 m and a body mass around 4–4.6 tonnes.
