The story in short
Uragasaurus was formally named in 2026 by Apirut Nilpanapan and colleagues. The name means “serpent lizard.”
It lived in the Late Jurassic · Early Cretaceous (Tithonian · Berriasian), roughly 149.2 to 137.1 million years ago. Finds come from Thailand, including the Phu Kradung Formation. It was a herbivore. A habitual gait is not settled.
The fossils of Uragasaurus are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.
On the family tree it sits in Mamenchisauridae, among the sauropod dinosaurs.
