The story in short
In 2020, X. X. Ren and colleagues published the name Anhuilong. The name means “anhui dragon.”
It lived in the Middle Jurassic (Aalenian–Callovian), roughly 174.7 to 161.5 million years ago. Finds come from China, including the Hongqin Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
The fossils of Anhuilong are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.
On the family tree it sits in Mamenchisauridae, among the sauropod dinosaurs.
