The genus Plesiohadros dates to 2014, the year K. Tsogtbaatar and colleagues described it. The name means “near to hadrosaurids.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Campanian), roughly 83.6 to 72.2 million years ago. Finds come from Mongolia, including the Alagteeg Formation. It was a herbivore and could move on two or four legs.
Published estimates put Plesiohadros at a length near 8.6 m.
