In 2020, M. J. Motta and colleagues published the name Overoraptor. The name means “piebald thief.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian · Turonian), roughly 100.5 to 89.8 million years ago. Finds come from Argentina, including the Huincul Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Overoraptor at a length near 1.3–3 m, hips about 0.5 m high, and a body mass around 30 kg.
