In 2015, W. Zheng and colleagues published the name Mosaiceratops. The name means “mosaic horned face.”
Fossils referred to Mosaiceratops date to the Late Cretaceous (Turonian–Campanian), roughly 93.9 to 72.2 million years ago. Finds come from China, including the Xiaguan Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Mosaiceratops at a length near 1 m, hips about 0.3 m high, and a body mass around 10 kg.
On the family tree it sits in Neoceratopsia, among the horned dinosaurs.
