The story in short
The genus Mirischia dates to 2004, the year D. Naish and colleagues described it. The name means “wonderful hips.”
It lived in the Early Cretaceous (Aptian), roughly 121.4 to 113.2 million years ago. Finds come from Brazil, including the Romualdo Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Mirischia at a length near 2.1 m, hips about 0.5 m high, and a body mass around 8 kg.
