The story in short

The genus Inosaurus dates to 1960, the year A. F. D. Lapparent described it. The name means “in Tedreft lizard.”

It lived in the Middle Jurassic (Bathonian · Callovian), roughly 168.2 to 161.5 million years ago. Finds come from Niger, including the Tiourarén Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.

The fossils of Inosaurus are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.

On the family tree it sits in Theropoda, among the theropod dinosaurs.
