In 2007, J. O. Calvo and colleagues published the name Futalognkosaurus.
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Turonian · Coniacian), roughly 93.9 to 85.7 million years ago. Finds come from Argentina, including the Portezuelo Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Futalognkosaurus at a length near 24–34 m, hips about 3.8 m high, and a body mass around 29–51 tonnes.
