The story in short
The genus Ferganocephale dates to 2005, the year A. O. Averianov and colleagues described it. The name means “fergana head.”
Fossils referred to Ferganocephale date to the Middle Jurassic (Callovian), roughly 165.3 to 161.5 million years ago. Finds come from Kyrgyzstan, including the Balabansai Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on two legs.
The fossils of Ferganocephale are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.
On the family tree it sits in Ornithischia, among the bird-hipped dinosaurs.
