In 2003, V. R. Alifanov and A. O. Averianov published the name Ferganasaurus.
It lived in the Middle Jurassic (Callovian), roughly 165.3 to 161.5 million years ago. Finds come from Kyrgyzstan, including the Balabansai Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Ferganasaurus at a length near 18 m, hips about 4 m high, and a body mass around 15 tonnes.
