In 2005, D. A. Campos and colleagues published the name Trigonosaurus. The name means “triangle lizard.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), roughly 72.2 to 66 million years ago. Finds come from Brazil, including the Serra da Galga Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Trigonosaurus at a length near 9.5 m.
