The story in short
The genus Tianzhenosaurus dates to 1998, the year Q. Pang and Z. Cheng described it. The name means “tianzhen lizard.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Campanian), roughly 83.6 to 72.2 million years ago. Finds come from China, including the Huiquanpu Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
The fossils of Tianzhenosaurus are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.
On the family tree it sits in Ankylosaurinae, among the armored dinosaurs.
This entry is the whole genus. The type species is Tianzhenosaurus youngi. Other named species include Tianzhenosaurus chengi.
