In 2011, M. Shibata and colleagues published the name Ratchasimasaurus. The name means “nakhon Ratchasima lizard.”
Fossils referred to Ratchasimasaurus date to the Early Cretaceous (Aptian), roughly 121.4 to 113.2 million years ago. Finds come from Thailand, including the Khok Kruat Formation. It was a herbivore and could move on two or four legs.
Published estimates put Ratchasimasaurus at a length near 10 m.
On the family tree it sits in Styracosterna, among the ornithopod dinosaurs.
