The story in short
In 2003, J. A. Wilson and colleagues published the name Rajasaurus. The name means “king lizard.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), roughly 72.2 to 66 million years ago. Finds come from India, including the Lameta Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Rajasaurus at a length near 6.6–11 m, hips about 1.8 m high, and a body mass around 4 tonnes.
