The genus Oryctodromeus dates to 2007, the year D. J. Varricchio and colleagues described it.
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian), roughly 100.5 to 93.9 million years ago. Finds come from the United States, including the Blackleaf Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Oryctodromeus at a length near 2.1 m, hips about 0.5 m high, and a body mass around 22–32 kg.
