In 2024, N. R. Longrich and colleagues published the name Minqaria.
Fossils referred to Minqaria date to the Late Cretaceous (Maastrichtian), roughly 72.2 to 66 million years ago. Finds come from Morocco, including the Phosphates of the Oulad Abdoun Basin Formation. It was a herbivore and could move on two or four legs.
Published estimates put Minqaria at a length near 3.5 m and a body mass around 250 kg.
