Liaoningotitan was formally named in 2018 by C. F. Zhou and colleagues. The name means “liaoning giant.”
Fossils referred to Liaoningotitan date to the Early Cretaceous (Barremian), roughly 125.8 to 121.4 million years ago. Finds come from China, including the Yixian Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Liaoningotitan at a length near 10 m, hips about 2 m high, and a body mass around 4.5 tonnes.
