Kazaklambia was formally named in 2013 by P. R. Bell and K. S. Brink. The name means “kazakhstan Lambeosaurus.”

Fossils referred to Kazaklambia date to the Late Cretaceous (Coniacian · Santonian), roughly 89.8 to 83.6 million years ago. Finds come from Kazakhstan, including the Darbazin Formation. It was a herbivore and could move on two or four legs.

Published estimates put Kazaklambia at a length near 4.7 m.

On the family tree it sits in Lambeosaurinae, among the ornithopod dinosaurs.
