The story in short
In 1996, P. C. Sereno and colleagues published the name Deltadromeus. The name means “river delta runner.”
It lived in the Late Cretaceous (Cenomanian), roughly 100.5 to 93.9 million years ago. Finds come from Morocco, including the Gara Sbaa Formation. It was a carnivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Deltadromeus at a length near 8.1 m and a body mass around 1.1–4 tonnes.
