The story in short
Chialingosaurus was formally named in 1959 by C. C. Young. The name means “chialing lizard.”
It lived in the Middle Jurassic · Late Jurassic (Bajocian–Oxfordian), roughly 170.9 to 154.8 million years ago. Finds come from China, including the Shaximiao Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
The fossils of Chialingosaurus are too incomplete for a responsible length, hip height, or weight, so those fields are left blank on purpose.
On the family tree it sits in Stegosauria, among the plated dinosaurs.
