Albertaceratops was formally named in 2007 by M. J. Ryan. The name means “alberta horned face.”
Fossils referred to Albertaceratops date to the Late Cretaceous (Campanian), roughly 83.6 to 72.2 million years ago. Finds come from Canada, including the Oldman Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on four legs.
Published estimates put Albertaceratops at a length near 5.8 m, hips about 2.2 m high, and a body mass around 3.5 tonnes.
