In 2017, P. C. Sereno published the name Afromimus. The name means “africa mimic.”
It lived in the Early Cretaceous (Albian), roughly 113.2 to 100.5 million years ago. Finds come from Niger, including the Elrhaz Formation. It was a herbivore and walked on two legs.
Published estimates put Afromimus at a length near 4.1 m, hips about 1 m high, and a body mass around 70 kg.
